After leaving Maun, Jeff and Stacie took us to the Makgadikgadi Pans to go camping for a few days. We actually camped in the game park. It's great to really be in the middle of the wild...a lion kept us awake one night because he wouldn't stop roaring. Though we got up the next morning to go looking for him (and caught an amazing sunrise be the way!), we never did find him. However, we did find evidence of him....as you can see by the dead zebra.
I recently told my little brother Garrett that hippos are the most dangerous animal in Africa (it's true, they kill more people than any other animal!) and he said, "Shawna, don't go near any hippos while you're in Africa". Don't worry Garrett, we did see some hippos, but I stayed a good distance away :-)

Yeah! We actually had zebra jerky (homemade by Jeff) while we were on our safari!
