The last two days we’ve been spreading the word that the street kids should come to the church on Wednesday, as usual, for an afternoon meal. We had around 25 kids and 2 babies show up! I shared with them using an evangelism tool called “Creation to Christ”, breaking the Bible down into one long story which took about 20 minutes. I was able to illustrate to them Gods power, love and provision. After this time the pastor asked for any to come forward who wanted to accept Christ - 3 came forward! Please pray for Joseph, Edward and Lawrence to be filled with the joy and love that comes from knowing Christ. Pray that God will demonstrate his presence in their lives.

We also spent some time in counseling, learning more about the lives of the boys, where they come from and what their hopes and dreams are for the future. Many of them want to complete some kind of training like carpentry or mechanics in order to get jobs. The desire of Kikuyu Baptist is to open a center where they can provide this type of training for the boys. Pray that the church members will continue to be diligent about pursuing this and that the Lord would provide the means.
We also met one boy who wanted to talk privately with us after the group sessions. He admitted that he and his “wife” and their 8 month old son had all been recently diagnosed as HIV positive. We will spend some more time with the family on Sunday after church. Pray that the Lord would give us wisdom in that time and that the church members would be directed about how to follow up and minister to this family.
