Two weekends ago I went with Crystal, Kelly and Emily (the closest journeygirls to me – 4 hours away) to Madikwe, a game reserve in South Africa. We had a great time, despite the rain, seeing 4 out of 5 of the Big 5! The Big 5 are: elephant (my favorite animal!), buffalo, leopard, rhino and lion (the only one we didn’t see was leopard). In all my safari trips I’ve never seen a lion as close up as on this trip. He was lazily lying down on the road just 10 feet from our truck. The black and white photo is me trying to stay warm and dry (and not really succeeding!).

I'm glad to hear that things are going so well in Africa. I pray that God protects you from the lions, tigers, bears and bats. :)
