I was able to join the other Journeygirls in Botswana on a trip to Cape Town, South Africa for Christmas. The following entries are from our trip. Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities in Africa. It reminded me of a combination of several cities including San Francisco and Monterey. You definitely don’t feel like you’re in Africa. We arrived Christmas Eve and spent the evening down at the Waterfront – the harbor area that has several restaurants and shops, not to mention a beautiful view of Table Mountain. Christmas day we went to Church in the morning then spent most of the day driving down towards Cape Point. We stopped at Boulders Beach, which is known for its colony of African penguins. Bet most of you didn’t know we had penguins in Africa! Then we made our way to Cape Point, the southern most point of Africa. Beautiful views, but very windy! On one side lays the Atlantic Ocean, and on the other side the Indian Ocean. After spending time there we headed back into town to see Narnia and then had a lovely Christmas dinner of pizza afterwards, yum.
The next few days we visited different beaches (yeh! I’ve been missing the beach), went up to Table Mountain and did some shopping.
